2Laps (Jeff Shaw) – since 2000

Nick origin:  In 2004, Jeff won the Blackburn Club Championships at Gembrook after going from the gun, mentioning he’d only be doing two laps in order to get to a family do and the Baron of Beef, but then finding he had time to finish the whole race – only getting pipped by Richard England (pro) in the open category on that last steep hill before the finish.  Jeff won the Masters champs that day.

What the other 6am-ers might say about 2Laps:   One of the loveliest blokes you could ever meet, Jeff’s personality bubbles over to his riding style.  As much as he loves to win, he’s also willing to bury himself completely for another 6am-er if it means the team will have a chance of a win (informally or formally!).  He’s always smiling (A/A), and packs a fair amount of power when required (A/A – green jersey).  Jeff is one of the original four 6am-ers who have hit the Nongs every Sunday since the turn of the century.  Jeff – along with Kevin Murphy, Cam Hunter and Brett Curran - founded the group and christened the staple 6am-er ride, Cinderella and the Three Uglies.

He’s one of the three Shaw brothers in the group and is relentless in pressuring the other two to join us whenever they can.  It’s always a pleasure to have the Shaw’s on a ride due to their friendly natures and competitive riding styles.
